GMZ Employment Job Search Work Team
The GMZ Job search work team provides you an opportunity to be a part of a productive and informal work group that will support and encourage you in reaching your career goals.
What is the GMZ Job Search Work Team?
The GMZ Job Search Work Team is an on-going project management team led by GMZ’s employment counselors and volunteers to assist unemployed and under employed individuals in reducing search time and increase productivity toward job placement. Team meets every two weeks in an informal 1 hour meeting designed to accelerate job placement.
What is required of Job Search Work Team members?
- All members are required to make four meeting commitments in order to create a committed work group.

- Each member serves as a resource and advisor to the others

- Members show respect for each other by keeping commitment

- When a member obtains a new position, the departing member debriefs the team
What happens in the Job Search Work Team meetings?
At the beginning of each meeting, each team member gives a brief progress report – a maximum of three minutes on activities and contacts made during the past two weeks.
The next one to two minutes is devoted to a review of highlights of the week in search, the two most productive things that happened or were accomplished
The next minute is devoted to discussion of progress reporting… listing priorities, areas to be focused on during the next upcoming weeks.
The last session offers members an opportunity to tap the team’s knowledge by proposing a topic for discussion. Topics should relate to improving effectiveness in job search. The purpose is to use the team as an advisory panel – to find ways to make the next week of search even more productive.
The GMZ employment counselors and volunteers will provide tools, processes and helpful tips to assist you in measuring your progress and productivity toward your job search.
